Dear Parents & Members,

We had our Christmas service in Church this morning and 46 members, parents and officers attended.

Thank you to all who attended and I think you will agree it was a lovely service and the Church blessed our BB & GA prayer tree made by our Anchor section.  Also we displayed a hand Christmas tree from our Junior section and a nativity drawing and colouring from our Anchor section.

We have had many apologies and we do understand it’s a very busy time of the year for people with Christmas so near.

Our next Church service is on Sunday 5th February 2012 at 9.30am.

The Company is now closed for Christmas holidays and we re-open on Monday & Tuesday 23rd & 24th January 2012.

On behalf of myself and all the officers of the Company we wish all our members, parents and their families a very merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

15th Wigan BB & GA Remembrance Sunday Parade

Sunday 13th November 2011

Dear Members and Parents,

On Sunday 13th November it is the Remembrance Sunday Parade in Abram. Can all members please be in Abram school yard for 9.45am in full uniform so that we are ready to start the parade at 10am. This year’s council representative is Councillor Carl Sweeney.

At 10am the parade leaves the school yard turning left along Simpkin Street. At the junction of Warrington Road we turn left and continue along the road to Abram Church. We arrive at church around 10.20am ready for the service to begin at 10.30am.

After the service the parade assembles down the side of the church and follows the same route returning to Abram School for dispersal around 11.50am.

All members who attend will receive a cross with a poppy on to take home. The Company wreath, poppies and crosses have been purchased from the Royal British legion poppy appeal and I know you will agree is a very worthy cause.

As a company we only parade once a year and go into church once a year. Please make every effort to attend this very important remembrance parade as we remember the millions of people who gave their lives for this country. Please try to get a poppy for your son or daughter to parade in. If you can’t, don’t worry we will have the British Legion poppy box with us and you can make a donation and get a poppy on the morning of the parade.  All members who take part in this parade will receive a medal at our annual award evening on Tuesday 29th November 2011.

Regarding safety, I have arranged as in previous years safety marshals to parade with us. They will be wearing high visibility jackets and they will help along with the Police to keep all our members safe on the roads.

Please take time to read the safety information below

What a cracking response we’ve had regarding our sponsored bike ride from Manchester to Blackpool on Sunday 10th July 2011. We have thirteen people taking part from the 15th Wigan BB & GA doing the sixty mile ride.

The ride starts at 6.30am from Manchester United Football Ground, Sir Matt Busby Way, Manchester M16 0RA and finishes at the Mirror Ball on the South Promenade, Blackpool.

Our team of cyclists are Steven Hyde, Andrew Spencer, Paul Wilde, Phil Johnson, Phil Hargreaves, Dawn Organ, Steven Hoffman, Zoe Hart, Neil McKenzie, George Ainsworth, David Moore, Andrew Dean and Harry Hemsley. All cyclists taking part will receive a medal from the company at our annual award evening in November.

Thank you to all the cyclists for giving us their free time and helping us to raise money for our award evening this year. If you would like to sponsor us we have attached a sponsor form. Any monies received are very much appreciated.

We’ve had t-shirts made for the ride kindly sponsored by Wigan Roller Rink. They are Neon Yellow with black lettering. The company would like to express its gratitude to Gary & Dawn Holding & Tom Peters owners of the Wigan Roller Rink for their generosity and continued support for this company.

Dear parents, sponsors & friends of the company,

We have two BB & GA 49 clubs at the company that we have been running since 2002. We have a Saturday and Wednesday club both with 49 members in each. The cost of joining is £1 each week and you keep the same number each week.

When the national lottery is drawn on Wednesday and Saturday the member with the bonus ball number which is drawn out that matches the number allocated to our member wins a prize, either £25 or every six weeks £49

We currently have some numbers available:

Wednesday Club numbers 10,11, 28, 31 & 41

Saturday Club number 22

All monies made from our 49 club go straight back into our company and provides valuable resources for all our members. Without this income we would struggle to provide all we do.

If you are interested in joining our 49 clubs please visit our web site www.15thwiganbb.co.uk BB & GA 49 club tab. All our winners, prizes, members and lots more information are on the site.
