Company Chaplain

I first started going to Church in Wallasey where I was born. I went

to the local Church Sunday School at the age of 6 years old. Then at

the age of 11, I sang in the Church Choir.

After four years of marriage my wife Kathleen and I moved to

Abram in 1972 with our daughter Gillian, our son David was

here in 1973.

I became a Sidesperson at St John the Evangelist, Abram

in 1979, Parochial Church Council member in 1987,

Churchwarden in 1997 also governor of Abram Primary School

until 2005.

I commenced training to become a Licensed Reader (Lay Minister)

in 2003 and was licensed in 2007 at Liverpool Cathedral.

My hobbies are football, I help to run a football club – Wigan

Juniors with my wife and two friends which caters for

300 children ranging from the age of 5 – 13 years every

Saturday morning in organised teams and leagues.

I like Ten Pin Bowling, in my younger days I was involved in

several teams and leagues.

I like most sports; reading and church work, especially preaching.

I have been connected with the 15th Wigan Boys Brigade &

Girls Association for the last 13 years and look forward to the

years ahead.
